What a nice place to go fishing, I haven’t been in years, and the true potential of Lar has still not actualized, there could be much bigger fish. However the management is good, and the entire valley is beautiful. Nice video, Peyman, and I like the blog, there is very little information on fishing in Iran, and almost nothing in English, so you are doing the world a great favor. One bit of advice, if you have the chance buy a lighter rod, it is hard to get ultralight rods in Iran, as the chinese and russians make few, but with a lighter rod, the fight with the trout will be better, and it will be easier o fish the stream in lar.
Thank you for your kind words. It is a national park and I guess they are doing good not letting it be over fished, as you may know, Brown trouts have a much slower growth rate, it takes years before they grow and weight a few kgs.
About light rod, If you notice there is a very light rod there, but the structure of the reservoir is in a way you need to cast as long as you can, and a light rod can’t do that. then you need to let the line go as deep as it can, as fishing at night is not permitted, and during day, the fish are very deep.
I may try a fly rod as soon as I can, but most regular techniques have given no results in the past 3 years. So I’ll keep the regular long cast and heavy rod an option.
this looks amazing…. i didnt realise how beautiful iran was…. i have to go perhaps this year!
thanks for sharing 🙂
