This is possibly one of the worst weeks in history of computers, first Steve Jobs, and now the more important Denise Ritchie, the father of “C” programming language, which is behind almost every type of serious application and OS, died.
It is absolutely not OK to me that his death didn’t get the attention needed for his importance in changing the world the way it is. He is much more important than almost any other person in the computer industry.
Without him, none of OSes and Applications could even exist. Even many other computer languages are made possible by C language. If it wasn’t there, most other software didn’t exist at all. May he rest in peace, and we remember him as a legend.
